No, according to my experience, Zero water filters don’t remove PFOA. However, check the body of your Zero water filter. If the NSF international provides a certification mark, it will remove PFOA. Otherwise, a Zero water filter is not able to remove PFOA.

Which Water Treatment Process Removes PFAS and PFOA from Water?

If you want to eliminate PFOA and PFAS from your tap water, several water treatment methods can help. So, here I will discuss some of the water treatment processes, which I follow to remove PFAS and PFOA from water, and it works really well. So let’s see:

Activated Carbon Filters

Activated carbon filters, such as granular Carbon and solid carbon blocks cartridges, are very efficient at eliminating PFOA and PFOS from drinking water supplies in the home. The activated carbon filter is the most researched water treatment choice to make if you’re coping with PFAS pollution in the U.s, as per the EPA. Chlorine, mercury, PFOA, and PFAS are among the pollutants that a granular activated charcoal water filter can adsorb. While PFAS come in various sizes, they are typically significantly larger than the porous membrane. Therefore, they cannot be filtered through with the water particles.

The reverse osmosis filters may often lower PFOA & PFAS levels by up to 90%. In addition, phthalates and hundreds of many other trace impurities are thrown down at the time of reverse osmosis procedures, ensuring that only pure water reaches your faucet.
