Systems for Ion Exchange

Ion exchange can be another water treatment option for eliminating PFAS from tap water. The ion exchange treatment consists of a tube filled with anion exchange resins, usually comprised of refractory hydrocarbons.

Anionic polymers & cationic resin are the 2 kinds of ion exchange polymers available. Because cationic polymers are considered impolite, they are better at eliminating positively charged pollutants, whereas anionic polymers are effective at eliminating negatively charged contaminants because they are positively charged.
